A lot of people using HTML try to disguise it as a true programming language, but unfortunately for them it is just a markup.
Do you think it has similarities with true programming languages? I personally think that it has a lot to do with your experience.
If you think php is a programming language too, think again please! It is a scripting language

It helps you with other languages, however it's not a amazing and super language, no. It only does basics, however without the HTML you would not have divs, now would you? Many codes are dependent on HTML, so in a way, without knowing it, your a lost cause.

Ahaha, yeah. I think you are perfectly right and it has its own place in the web world.
There are also some other markup languages which might replace html in the future, but this is impossible.
HTML5 did an amazing job for the next-gen web.

Personally I see it as a guide or markup for CSS/PHP, etc. I like to use it so that I know what I want to put where on a webpage.
