Xbox One vs. Playstation 4 Sales by Dee

This is just a comparison mainly for first-day/week launch sales as the Playstation 4 has already been out for over a week. And it looks like they have taken the title of winner in the race to become the highest-selling console. Playstation 4, according to various sources, has sold around one-million units in the first 24 hours of its release--and that was just in North America (the PS4 will be released in Europe on November 29th, so we can't even count that). Whereas, the Xbox One has sold 1 million in the first day across an expanse of 13 territories (NA/Brazil/Europe).

So while there has been some significant increases in sales between the PS4 and Xbox One, do the first-day numbers really matter? I think the general answer is a resounding 'no'. Both consoles have come with their own set of problems, anything from the 'blue line of death' of the Playstation 4 to the grinding noises and error messages of the Xbox One. And those are only two issues. After hearing Ubisoft's titles Watch_Dogs and The Crew have been delayed, that immediately put a damper on launch-day releases. There really won't be any highly anticipated next gen titles out until 2014.

What are your guys' thoughts on this next-gen release? How about in comparison to the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3?

Lol, well, I know I want the Playstation 4 mainly because I prefer the interface and the exclusives the console has snagged from certain developers. *coughnaughtydog*

I think when the really anticipated games come out is when we'll start seeing the numbers jump pretty high. In the next half-year to a year, we'll get a much, much better idea of how the consoles are really doing.

I would like to point out that there are several countries in the EU where the Xbox One won't be released until 2014. Bear that in mind since the sales numbers won't be absolutely true until next year, when both platforms have been released in all their intended markets.

On point; Both launches has thus far been pretty good. There's been a few hiccups on both sides, but nothing that weren't expected. Microsoft i think has fared better regarding DOA consoles. There's been reports of a number of Xbox Ones arriving with a faulty disc drive, Microsoft will be replacing all of these free of charge of course, but there's more; Any customers who's console suffered from this, will get a code for a free download of a number of Xbox One Launch titles including Ryse: Son of Rome and Forza 5. Not a bad deal if you ask me.
But there more, turns out that fixing the console is extremely easy. Some customers found out that it's a gear in the driver that was probably knocked out of alignment during shipping, and simply turning the console over and giving it a flew slaps on the drive, knocks the gear back into place. But of course this could void your warranty.

Personally, I'm still aiming to get the Xbox One when it launches here. A lot of people claim the Kinect overall, is really good experience too, and I'm looking forward to trying it.

One of the things I'm hearing about the Xbox One and its online play is the inability to curse or you may get banned from either a game, or--depending on how it's set up--you could get a technical, etc. Like...what? Why is Microsoft trying to control what I say to my machine? Why can't I curse on the net? I dislike the fact that they're trying to control the words coming out of my mouth, so that's just another turn on, aside from the lack of exclusives I'm interested in, and the fact that I would rather have a mostly-gaming console, and not a multimedia console.

Apparently, a few users had uploaded content that violated the Code of Conduct, so naturally they'd get banned from that service. Those kind of people likes to play the victim as well, so take everything you hear with a grain of salt. It's the same reason Sony removed the Playroom from Twitch entirely.

EDIT: Did some more research, turns out It's actually only a 24 hour ban, and I have hunch that It could be because of a faulty/untested procedure in that department, since the actual error message has some flawed wording and syntax. It'll hopefully be straighted out in a week or two.
I'm not suggesting a 24 hour ban isn't annoying, but I wish people stop tossing around the notion that "if you swear on Skype they ban you" when there's almost no evidence to support that. In fact the only source i could find, was a single Twitter user who posted a very vague picture, and description. Apart from these software issues, the X1 and PS4 both suffer from a lot of the same errors, which is because both consoles are brand new, It's a given that stuff is going to malfunction on both systems.
