I personally am not excited for the new xbox as I completely hate the name and I just dont really think it has a lot of new stuff to offer unlike the PS4. I think that PS4 will do much better then the Xbox One in my eyes. So sadly, I am not excited for it.

I just dont really think it has a lot of new stuff to offer unlike the PS4.

What sort of new stuff do you think the PS4 has to offer, that the X1 doesn't?

While I can see where the Xbox One is supposed to be an all-in-one machine, I personally dislike the idea of having what I feel should only be a gaming console. That's not to say what Microsoft is doing is a bad thing. It's a good thing for those who want it. But for me, I guess I am a little old school in that when I think about playing video games, I want one machine strictly for gaming. If and when the Xbox One severely decreases in price, then I'll consider purchasing it, but Sony--for me--offers a more appealing package all around (hardware, appearance, exclusives, etc).

I am undecided as I have the ps3 and have yet to play the xbox 360 lol but, i told my hubby i want one or the other so he will have to decide!

That's not to say what Microsoft is doing is a bad thing. It's a good thing for those who want it. But for me, I guess I am a little old school in that when I think about playing video games, I want one machine strictly for gaming.

Right when it was announced i felt the same way, but with all the updates and upgrades It's had, It'll put out the same performance as the PS4, so even with all the other stuff It'll do, it won't be sacrificing anything that'll lessen its gaming capability.
If the X1 was way less powerful, gaming wise, I wouldn't be getting it for sure, but since It's just as powerful in that area, I see all the new functions as a bonus, I'm not even opposed to the Kinect being bundled in. Yes the first one was a massive disappointment, but I like that Microsoft is at least attempting to progress with the concept, and who knows, If there's going to be some absolutely fantastic exclusives for it later, I'd rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

To me, the PS4 for now just seems too one sided. It'll do games, It'll do them very well, but that's it. My PC is meant for gaming as well, but i use it for a ton of other stuff, same with my phone, It's meant to do calls and texts, but I use it for much more, I don't see why i shouldn't expect the same from my console.

And that totally makes sense, so that's why the Xbox will be good for a lot of people. I am not one of those people. Yes, I have a computer for gaming, I have a computer for other various stuff. My phone as well does other things, but for pure gaming, I need one console to do that and generally only that. I'm just a little old school in that way. However, that isn't the only reason I prefer the Playstation. I've always been more of a fan of the consoles that Sony puts out as opposed to Microsoft, simply because they offer more for my type of gaming. It's funny, a friend told me that I'd switch to Xbox so hard if Naughty Dog started releasing exclusives only for the Xbox, which is partially true. While I do looooooove anything Naughty Dog releases, there are many other awesome exclusives for the Playstation that I adore. :3 And that's good. That's why we have choices between Xbox, PS, Wii, handhelds, PC, (and others). It's nice to have choice.

I'm going to try and wait till I get the new system. Well if I can before im forced to but it so I can play my favorite games. I guess time will tell but I might switch to the PS4 due to its gaming capabilities.

Just to debunk this "PS4 has way better hardware" myth that's going around: The X1 and PS4 can accomplish almost exactly the same things, gaming wise. To put it into perspective, an Xbox One has 1.36 teraflops of graphical computing power and the PlayStation 4 has 1.84 teraflops of graphical computing power.
The PS4s is slightly better yes, but I seriously doubt that it will be noticeable on any level.

So you won't be sacrificing anything gaming wise, if you'd pick the X1 over the PS4.
