Next Gen Console by Dee

With next generation gaming consoles coming out very soon (in the next 2-3 weeks), there has been some serious hype floating around the gaming world. This will be the Xbox and Playstation's newest console releases within the last 7-8 years. It is a massive and possibly game-changing move that has yet to produce results. Of course, there will be more news about it in the near future as the consoles are released. The Playstation 4 is expected to drop November 15th. While the Xbox One will be released on November 22nd--a week later. I'll add more news to this thread as it becomes available, but do tell us...do you plan on purchasing a new console at launch? Do you plan on waiting? Or are you going to snag an older console now that there should be some price drops?

I'm not getting a PS4. What is the difference? The PS3 is already HD, it plays blu-rays, and the graphics are right on. How much better can you get? lol

The difference is in the hardware and the graphics are better. You won't get "amazing" unless you purchase a PC with some impressive specs, but here is a layout of the differences between the two consoles: PS3 vs. PS4

For starters, the graphics will be better.

And eventually, Sony and game developers will cease production of the PS3 in favor of the PS4. Not to mention a ton of new exclusives you're gonna miss.

I am debating on the PS4 but undecided because I have a PS3 and I love that already. Sure the four might have better capabilities, but the three is still bad ass and working fine!

I won't be getting a next generation console since I am quite happy at the moment with my Xbox 360 but if I did get one of the two in the future it would definitely be the PS4 - much cheaper and much better

Definitely! That's why I got the bigger HD PS3 so I could play my older Playstation games. I really don't need the PS1 and PS2 I have anymore, but I keep them for nostalgia's sake.

I don't see how a bigger hard drive has anything to do with PS2 games. lol It's simply better because so many games can be downloaded off the PS store. I haven't played a disc game in ages. All our games were downloaded.

I never buy new consoles on their release dates, I usually wait a bit before buying one. I got my 360 back in 2010 so I was pretty late to the party with that one. It's best to wait for the price to drop and for updates to be released just in case there are going to be some bugs with the consoles. With that said I do plan on getting a Wii U before anything else, and will most likely be getting the XBone just because I already pay for XBL and my account would carry over.
