I have to say, spammers give the hardest time to forum owners. They often post lots of useless posts and it takes us lots of time to clean up those spam posts.

What is the biggest obstacle you have faced as a forum owner?

I feel like with a new forum or any pre-existing forum that activity and maintaining activity has been the toughest job for me. I have been a forum administrator on quite a few forums--not only my own. I have also moderated and been an article writer. I have done plenty of things to keep member interest, and it really is a struggle at times if you're not running a very popular forum.

Getting your forum off the ground is the hardest considering many won't register considering they will just think its another niche forum that will close in a few days

Definitely maintaining activity. Also keeping spam away and figuring iut what keeps the members interested!

It would have to be the members in my opinion, it is very hard to appease them all on the forum as they all want something different I find. so you have to try and find a balance between what everyone want and then you have to find out what you want as well. And this can sometimes lead to strife and anger between the members if you can not find the right balance.
