I have always used phpbb and it seemed to always do what I needed it to do.
No problems so far, only spamming bots, which can be rejected with clever questions. |

Vanilla is fast and easy to understand and proboards is the best software easy to learn and free I've never had much experience with Vanilla forums, but with PB they are very easy to use and customize! I've been with PB for years. I leave I come back, always come back.

My favorite forum software will be MyBB. It easy to use for both user and administrator. Although it does not have great plugin like PhpBB but I will still vote for MyBB!

I've used many different ones and my fav remains vBulletin 3. It is packed full of features, it's fast, and has lots of templates/themes available. I ran a forum with it for many years.

My favorite forum software is Mybb and I am currently using it on all my forums (I have 3 forums). I am very used to with Mybb and I am likely to stick with them.

I actually installed and tested several forum packages under Linux before settling on phpBB. It is very robust in production, even when heavily modded.

My favorite paid forum software is IPB, but it's too expensive! My favorite free forum software is a tie between MyBB and phpBB. Both have great features and you can't go wrong with either one.

My favorite paid forum software is IPB, but it's too expensive! My favorite free forum software is a tie between MyBB and phpBB. Both have great features and you can't go wrong with either one. I know right. I used to be a paid member but stopped updating after awhile. It just cost too much...
